The series tells about the family of small crime boss Frank Kinsella. Frank tries to establish peace and cooperation with Dublin godfather Eamon Cunningham. However, Eric and Jimmy do not accept diplomacy: they strengthen the position of the family in bloodier ways and thereby unleash a war with the powerful Cunningham. When Michael Kinsella returns from prison, his family has high hopes for him in resolving the conflict.
