At the heart of Modern Family is the patchwork family around Jay Pritchett. Jay has already two adult children, but he lives with the much younger Latina Gloria and her son Manny. Jay’s daughter Claire and her husband Phil bring the three children Haley, Alex and Luke. Claire’s brother and Jay’s son Mitchell, on the other hand, recently adopted a Vietnamese baby with his partner Cameron Tucker. Three different yet loving families unite and handle life through everyday struggles. The sitcom shows us how hectic and interesting situations can occur of these people like problems with misunderstanding their kids, financial worries and just typical work stress. Not every family is ideal, but that’s just the way life is.
