Ellie Fox is a talented and eccentric inventor with many unusual projects to his credit. Ellie’s inventions bring him a good income, but a man dreams not of money and other benefits of civilization. He is pretty tired of politics, cynicism and indifference reigning in society. Lately, Ellie dreams of being somewhere far away from all this fuss. He is obsessed with the idea of moving with his family to some wilderness. Ellie comes up with a great idea. He wants to move to the Mosquito Coast. It is a remote area, lost in the jungle of Mexico. Ellie convinces his wife and children that they will all be much better there than in the states. Having quickly sold out the property, the Foxes set off in a small boat to their new home.
