At the center of a true story is the wheelchair-bound Gypsy Blanchard and her mother Dee Dee, whose endless care for her daughter delights the entire neighborhood. No one realizes that Dee Dee’s desire for control and overprotection has long crossed all boundaries. The maturing Gypsy begins to protest against the suffocating mother’s love, and this rebellion has serious consequences. The further it goes, the more terrifying the story becomes.
